Green feature tiles

It’s easy to see why green feature tiles are so sought after. This gorgeous colour is so brilliantly versatile and in more shades than you can shake a stick at. Whether you are looking for an earthy, grounding shade of green (think olive or sage), want to be a little more playful with limes and mints or want to go full on drama with green marble, this is a colour that makes a statement and yet, can also create a calming, sanctuary of a space.

From an interior design perspective, green is on trend and continues to be. One of the reasons is its versatility. With a plethora of names for this lush colour – olive, emerald, sage, forest, jade, bottle and more, green spans such a wide range of shades you will always find a green to work in your design whether you are looking for ultra-modern minimalism or the country cottage feel.

So where would you use green feature tiles? We explore this brilliant colour and take a look at tiles that are just the ticket for those seeking to go green. You can see all the feature tiles in this blog at the end of the article and click straight through to the tiles on our website!

The bathroom

It is the obvious place to start. The bathroom. Green tiles are the perfect companion for bringing that spa-like feel to the bathroom. This is no longer just a functional room, we are creating spaces with the echoes of the hotel spa and green feature tiles can absolutely help achieve this. Whether you are looking to colour drench an entire wall, create a brilliant feature or just want to add a little green fun, we’ve a heap of green feature tiles to fit the bill.

Take the gloriously glossy deep green notes of Smitten Emerald. This porcelain tile has the merest hint of burnished tones to some of the tile edges and a rich, deep green colour, it just oozes class. The great thing about colour feature tiles is you have a whole lot of installation options too so you can really add even more interest to walls by opting to lay your tiles in a specific pattern eg herringbone to offsetting your tiles.

Verdrigris derives its name from the blue-green patina that forms on metals like copper due to the oxidation process. This stunning colour is wonderfully replicated in our iconic Forge Mint metallic effect porcelain tile with it’s unmistakable Verdigris hues. Forge Mint makes a brilliant bathroom tile whether you are looking to make a statement feature wall or want to go all out green. Forge Mint pairs superbly well with so many of our concrete and cement effect tiles as well as many of our wood effect porcelain tile collections too.

And let’s not overlook marble. Our striking Tencha green marble effect porcelain tile will add a brilliantly dramatic note to your bathroom. Featuring a mix of green and charcoal this large format tile is in both a polished finish aswell as a matt surface and marries perfectly with many of our wood collections.

And of course, all these tiles also make perfect kitchen splashback too!

The kitchen

A green tiled splashback will work with a whole host of kitchen cabinetry colours from white to woods, taupes to creams as well as moody charcoals and more.  Those glossy finishes will also help reflect the light beautifully and picking a tile with a hand-made feel will bring an additional layer of light reflectance as both natural and artificial light can bring out the artisan feel. Our Adore bottle green feature tiles bring just that to spaces, an artisanal, rustic charm. Not only do these ceramic tiles have that hand-crafted feel, they also have a wonderful shade variation.

Or, if you want to add a playful pattern to your space then our Arabesque sage is a perfect pick with a colour palette focussed on light green, taupe tones and a soft white background. The tile surface has a sophisticated blend of matt and gloss too.

Or how about adding some bloom to your room? This eye-catching tile features a beautifully glossy floral pattern in a soft sage green set against a lovely white matt background that really makes the pattern in these tiles stand out.  Walls or floors Bloom will add the wow factor to your kitchen – or bathroom.

The bootroom

Check out Provence. This pretty little floral tile makes a brilliant floor or wall tile and is perfect if you are looking to make an impact.   That also goes for Mode in beautiful Olive – this tile is designed to bring a rustic charm to spaces. The mid green olive design is set against an off-white background that really shows this pattern off.

Even terrazzo can have green appeal. Terrazzo tiles have a mix of flecks and our Fleck terrazzo tile has a combination of blue, green, tan, brown, cream specs all set against a grey-brown background – the exquisite 45 x 45cm format is ideal for walls and floors.

The hallway

Want to make an entrance? Then say it in style with tiles. A green pattern tiled hallway just says wow and sets the tone from the moment you open the door. Take a look at our Motif collection featuring a grey-green, pink and white colour palette. These pretty patterned porcelain tiles with their hand drawn designs are just gorgeous.

Tips for designing with green feature tiles

Pairing up your green tiles with other tile options can really make this colour stand out and that is especially so with neutrals. Green feature tiles work so well with soft creams, off-whites, whites and greys. And of course don’t forget about woods – you can’t beat a well chosen porcelain wood effect tile in a deep mahogany or the rich notes of cherry.

Interior design is all about combining the rough with the smooth so combining gloss and matt finishes will add texture and depth to your design. Think glossy green feature tiles and the subtle notes of a simple taupe matt concrete effect tile.

As we have already mentioned smaller feature brick feature tiles can be laid in all kinds of patterns which can really add interest to spaces so it is worth exploring these layouts for your room.

Green feature tiles make a statement so whether you are reviving tired walls, breathing new life into your entire room or want to add a bold, bright stamp to your floor, this is a colour that can not only bring a calm, refreshing note to your space but can also be fun and vibrant.
