Italian bathroom tiles

We look at the latest Italian bathroom tiles and explore three key reasons why these premium tiles are the optimum option for what is usually the smallest of rooms. More than ever before we are designing bathrooms that exude that spa like feel. More than simply a functional space, the bathroom has carved out a role for itself in giving us a space to relax, unwind and pamper ourselves.

Porcelain tiles play an essential role in how these spaces are created. As well as performing a functional role, porcelain tiles can be used to bring bathrooms to life, elevating walls and floors and giving us that spa like feeling in what is very often the smallest room of the home. So let’s dive in and find out how our collections can transform your space because nothing speaks luxury quite like Italian bathroom tiles.

1 Amazing design

Tiles will shape the style of a bathroom. They are a hugely important factor in the ultimate look and feel of a space and can bring unique styling to a room. Our Italian bathroom tiles have style in spades – from the finest ingredients to meticulous detailing and clever surface finishes, they just ooze quality. But it’s the refined designs of Italian tiles that really catch the eye. Stone, slate, marble, limestone, wood, cement, concrete, metals – you name it, porcelain can mimic it. But how well they mimic these designs is all down to the quality of the design and clever tile technology.

Take Forge. This capsule collection of Italian metallic effect porcelain tiles just oozes class. Shown here is Forge Bronze paired up with the exquisite Forge Mint. The result of painstaking attention to detail to emulate the colour Verdigris, these tiles feature a deep green-blue colour with hints of bronze-copper to the tile surface. The variation of pattern across the collection is staggering giving these tiles an incredibly realistic look and feel.

2 Colour palette

As we gravitate towards warmer hues for our homes like taupes and toasty tones, these grown-up colour palettes are reflected in the latest Italian bathroom tiles and there’s nowhere this is better demonstrated than in some of the micro-cement and concrete tile options.

Take Blend and Toast. Two beautifully simple collections with minimal design to the tile surfacing. The latter, Toast, mimics a micro cement in two deliciously warm hues (see image above). The absolute finest of surface finish elevates these tiles giving them the softest of sheens to the tile surface. It’s this kind of attention to detail that sets these collections part. The outside tiles in this collection are surface finished with the finest sand-like texture that enhances the tiles look whilst delivering an R11 A+B+C tile rating.

Tone is a wonderful mix of earthy shades that are a joy to behold.  This collection boasts an exceptionally well specified palette of cement look porcelain tiles for walls and floors. The tactile surface finish enhances the look and feel of these tiles too and Earth in particular pairs beautifully with woods, whites and natural greenery and is perfect for creating that spa like feel.

3 Tile Performance

Technically, porcelain tiles excel. Bathrooms are humid places and need a product that can cope with this environment. It’s thanks to tile technology and the amazing technical properties of porcelain that they are perfect for busy bathrooms. Porcelain tiles are scratch, stain and fade resistant and exceptionally durable. They can be used on floors and walls. The non-porous surface of a porcelain tile makes them impenetrable to bacteria and mould and their composition means they are very easy to clean.

Tile finishes play a large role too in bathrooms. With water present it is important that tiles offer the right slip resistance. Porcelain tiles are available in an array of finishes including antislip textures.

4 Practicality

Italian bathroom tiles are a highly practical solution. Hygienic and hardwearing, they are just made for busy bathrooms. Highly resistant to water, porcelain is a perfect partner for the humid bathroom environment and super easy to clean. At the very least we tile where water may be present – for example behind sinks, baths or WCs. At the other end of the spectrum we may want to create a striking feature wall.

5 The wow factor

Italian bathroom tiles are designed to create the wow factor. Tile feature walls add personality to spaces and you can create the wow factor through colour, pattern or texture as you can see with our new Lunga collection. For bathrooms, feature walls may be on the wall opposite the doorway, in the shower itself or as a focal point behind a designer bath. The design possibilities are endless!

Conclusion

Italian bathroom tiles are beautiful, stylish and hardwearing in equal measure. Meticulous design, refined styling, amazing colour palettes and attention to detail is what sets these tiles apart and this is rounded off with innovative surface textures that play such a crucial role in not just how a tile looks but the overall ambience of a room.
