Working directly with both the clients and their architect Raydan Watkins our brief was to put forward tile options to work both internally and externally in this modest 1960s two-storey end of terrace house. The clients wanted a large format warm toned tile to work across the ground floor in a matt finish with a co-ordinating antislip tile for the adjoining patio area to link the areas together. Matching tiles allowed a flow to be created around the ground floor from inside to outside.
The north facing living room was moved from the back to the front of house to overlook a large secluded and private front garden. The small kitchen then moved from the front to the back of the home to create an airy open plan dining kitchen space.
An enlarged hallway was opened up the previously cramped entrance and the guest WC relocated to a more discrete inner part of the house.

Our Stride Arena Italian porcelain tiles in 800 x 800 format were the perfect choice for this project. This lovely tile is a concrete effect porcelain with a lovely warm tone and the perfect canvas for ground floors. With 9mm thick tile in matt for inside and a 20mm co-ordinating tile for outside the collection is perfect for linking lounge to lawn.
All our Italian porcelain pavers for external areas are rectified as are all our internal co-ordinating tiles so grout lines inside and outside are at a minimum of a few mm. The large format of this tiles makes them perfect for contemporary spaces especially open plan areas.
