Abode Limestone porcelain tile collection

We explore our Abode collection, a limestone porcelain tile that will leave you wanting to know more. This beautifully balanced collection of cooler and warmer tones is designed with the very latest in tile technology. This is a limestone porcelain tile collection that transforms the traditional limestone into something truly contemporary through stunning large formats, brilliant finishes and rectified tile edges. Abode brings you all the beauty of limestone with all the benefits of porcelain. This is a modern limestone porcelain tile collection perfect for the very latest interior designs.

All the beauty of limestone

Our Abode limestone porcelain tile range is an incredibly versatile multi-format collection in four tones that can be used across the home. The collection compliments our other tile collections wonderfully well and works with many of our feature tiles, wood effect tiles and metallics and like so many of our tiles is perfect for walls and floors.

Abode White in particular is sublime in design and just oozes class. It’s perfect for spaces requiring a super simple canvas. Tiles have a hint of movement in the surface meaning they are not completely plain. The understated design of Abode leaves  you free to design your dream kitchen or bathroom and perhaps push the boat out on worksurface design or cabinetry.

Our Sand limestone porcelain tile is in keeping with the latest trends and brings a touch of warmth with a lovely warm taupe toned look that works so well with many of our wood tile collections too. Again, the design is simple so Sand makes a great canvas for any ground floor area, bathroom, kitchen and more.

Or if you want to opt for a cooler vibe, Silver and Grey are wonderfully contemporary and bring a lovely newness to this limestone collection. Our love affair with grey will never end as this is a colour that is so versatile and given the simplicity of Abode Silver and Grey you really can push the boat out with colour – think bright oranges, limes, pinks and more. Or for a more monochrome feel these tiles provide the perfect canvas.

Tile Size and finishes

Designed specifically to replicate a limestone feel with a contemporary edge Abode is well worth a look if you are seeking an understated, chic canvas. It is perfect for rooms with a scandi feel too because it is beautifully simple.

This is a tile that is also super practical. Featuring an Antislip Soft finish to the tile surface for larger format of 900 x 900 and 1200 x 600mm these tiles feature an R11 A+B+C rating giving you a slightly higher slip rating that has also been designed for easy cleaning too. Using a larger format across ground floors can really open up space – grout lines are at a minimum and if you opt for a grout colour that is a close match to the tile colour, you can create a lovely seamless feel.

The 600 x 600mm format has a Natural finish giving this format a slightly different look and feel. The surface and texture have a lovely chalky feel to them making this a great choice where you want a tile that has a slight textured feel. Natural, soft or matt tile finishes have very little light reflectance creating a sophisticated feel to spaces and this finish gives these tile a sophisticated feel.

Using the same tile across open plan spaces means you don’t need thresholds. That in turn means flooring is completely flush because there’s no need to adjoin different flooring materials. Imagine how easy that makes cleaning! Larger format tiles are ideal for larger areas and Abode, with it’s simplicity of design and contemporary colour palette is a brilliant choice for use across ground floors. It can be tricky picking a tile that you want to use across several rooms so looking for a simplistic design that will work with all kinds of materials is a great option. Our Abode limestone porcelain tile collection is a great choice because it works so well with a whole heap of other materials and colours. If we take Abode White – this is a tile that will work with woods, metals, whites, greens, blues, sands, taupes, stones, jutes – the list goes on!

All the benefits of porcelain

Porcelain is a brilliantly versatile material and one that is designed to echo other materials. From marble to woods, limestones to stone and more, good quality porcelains mimic other materials to exceptional standards to give you a product that has all the beauty of these materials without any of the drawbacks. Natural stone may have pits that are dirt traps , may wear unevenly and needs sealing regularly, whereas porcelain doesn’t. With a porcelain tile there is no ongoing maintenance and cleaning is easy – a mop and warm water are usually all that is needed.

Add to that rectified edges. A contemporary limestone porcelain tile with rectified edges can be installed with a 3mm grout line – whereas many natural stones feature a more tumbled edge and grout lines tend to be larger.

Porcelain is exceptionally hardwearing too and won’t wear in well-trodden areas. It is also highly scratch resistant and stain resistant making it a brilliant choice for busy kitchen areas. It can adequately cope with the thrills and spills of every day life.
